Meet the Superintendent
I am honored to be part of the Washington Central Unified Union School District community as your Superintendent! My background in special education has given me a firm belief that our job in public education is to create schools that work for all of our students and their families. Our WCUUSD schools have a long history of innovative, student-centered and inclusive education, and we can continually strive to reflect on our practices so that we can improve and expand learning for our students. My favorite part of this role is collaborating with our educators, leaders, and school community to continue and expand this most important work.
I began my career in Vermont education as an intensive needs special educator, working with students and families to develop inclusive programming. This focus on accessibility led me to leadership, and prior to joining Washington Central I spent more than 14 years as a special education administrator. Vermont is truly a wonderful place to be in education.
I live in South Burlington with my husband and two daughters, and like many of you, I am a busy parent trying to juggle work, family and children. Family is incredibly important to me, and when I am not here in Washington Central I enjoy time with them, time being outside and active, and (when I can) reading a good book
